Old Man Saltbush (Atriplex nummularia) is a native bush that grows over vast areas in the dry inland of Australia. It is incredibly drought tolerant and does well in saline soil. Saltbush has a wonderfully subtle and crisp taste.
Uses: My Dilly Bags Ground Saltbush is perfect for adding to spice blends, breads, pastas, dukkah, dressings, potenta and the list goes on. Traditionally it would be used by First Nations people for ceremonies, and to flavour cooked meat in ground ovens or as soft foliage used as bedding.
